Transactions

The Society has published its Journal, the Transactions, annually since 1913. They are an important and substantial record of the history of the Island and are extensively used by students and researchers at all levels of education as well as by interested individuals. They can be viewed in many Libraries and Archives in North Wales and in a number of university libraries in England and Wales.

All members of AAS receive a printed copy of the Transactions each year. Find out more about becoming a member.

This website has a searchable index of the authors and titles of all papers up to the most recent volume.

Each Transaction volume also gives our annual report about the society activities, including the lecture programme.

Subject Index

A more complete Subject Index to the Transactions for the period 1913-1985 was published by Society in 1987 to celebrate its 75th anniversary. It was compiled by Mr. Dewi O Jones, F.L.A., who served the Society as its Honorary Secretary between 1961-1982 and as Life Vice-President between 1983-2005. This has now been digitised in a searchable format.

Back Copies

We do have back copies of many of the more recent volumes, some back to the 1980s. We can also provide scans of individual articles. To enquire about availability and costs, please contact the Society’s Publications Officer by email at aas.publications@hanesmon.org.uk .

Full scans of some of the earliest volumes, from the 1910s and 1920s, are available on the website of T. P. T. Williams.
