If you value the heritage, traditions and natural history of Anglesey, membership of the Anglesey Antiquarian Society will bring you into contact with others who are like-minded, and could even afford an outlet for your abilities.

The Society is a Registered Charity (No – 507837) and was founded in 1911. Membership now stands at around 400.

Activities include several lectures each year and a programme of excursions during the summer. Meetings are mainly held in Oriel Môn, Llangefni on Friday evenings, usually the third Friday in the month. Because of its high reputation, the Society attracts speakers of academic standing, who discuss archaeological, historical, social and natural history topics, in Welsh and English. These are designed to appeal to everyone, expert and amateur.

Members receive a copy of the Society’s Transactions annually and two Newsletters, one in Spring and the other in the Autumn.

Since 1966 the Society has published several volumes in its Studies in Anglesey History series, dealing with a wide range of topics relevant to the Island. They can be purchased through the above link.

The subscription rates from 1st April 2016 are:

  • Individual members – £15.00
  • Joint Membership, living at the same address – £20.00
