{"id":42,"date":"2018-06-17T12:17:32","date_gmt":"2018-06-17T11:17:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.hanesmon.org.uk\/aaswp\/?page_id=42"},"modified":"2026-06-23T15:07:16","modified_gmt":"2026-06-23T14:07:16","slug":"membership","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.hanesmon.org.uk\/aaswp\/membership\/","title":{"rendered":"Membership"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you value the heritage, traditions and natural history of Anglesey, membership of the Anglesey Antiquarian Society will bring you into contact with others who are like-minded, and could even afford an outlet for your abilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Society is a Registered Charity (No : 507837) and was founded in 1911. Membership now stands at around 400.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Activities include eight lectures each year and a programme of visits during the summer. Meetings are usually held in Oriel Ynys M\u00f4n, Llangefni on a Friday evening, usually the third Friday in the month. Because of its high reputation, the Society attracts speakers of academic standing, who discuss archaeological, historical, social and natural history topics, in Welsh and English. These are designed to appeal to everyone, expert and amateur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since 1966, the Society has published several volumes in its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hanesmon.org.uk\/aaswp\/studies-in-anglesey-history\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"186\">Studies in Anglesey History series<\/a>, dealing with a wide range of topics relevant to the Island. These are available through booksellers, from the Society&#8217;s Publications Officer, or by making an order on line via PayPal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Members receive a copy of the Society&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hanesmon.org.uk\/aaswp\/transactions\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"75\">Transactions<\/a> annually, and two <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hanesmon.org.uk\/aaswp\/newsletter\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"21\">Newsletters<\/a>, one in Spring and the other in the Autumn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The subscription rates from 1st April 2016 are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Individual members &#8211; \u00a315.00<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Joint Membership, living at the same address &#8211; \u00a320.00<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Institutional Members &#8211; \u00a320.00<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To apply to join the Society please use the buttons below to pay by credit\/debit card or Paypal.
