SUNDAY 22nd June 4.00pm – 6.15 pm Penmynydd Church and Plas Penmynydd. LL77 7SH
Due to unforeseen circumstances we have had to change the outing to visit Presaddfed. We will now be visiting Penmynydd church, and Plas Penmynydd. We will look at the C14th marble tomb, hear about new research into the carvings, and discuss the Tudor family. We will meet at the church at 4.0pm, and then drive to Plas Penmynydd at 5.0pm. Parking will be along the road and it may be necessary to leave some cars by the church as parking is limited at Plas Penmynydd.
This is a Visit Change – Members who have booked to visit Presaddfed will be contacted.

FRIDAY 18th July 5.00 – c. 8.00pm Visit to Prince Madog Research Vessel, Menai Bridge
Meet at the Ocean Sciences building, Askew Street, Menai Bridge LL59 5AB at 5.00pm

This visit is oversubscribed and limited to 30. The trip is dependent on the boat returning in time from a refit so please watch the website for updates.
We will meet at the Ocean Sciences Graig Mair building, in the Dennis Crisp Suite on the top floor, at 5.00, where Professor David Bowers will tell us about the latest research projects being undertaken. We will then be given a guided tour of the boat in three groups of 10 with Prof Bowers, Dr Mattias and Dr Andrew Davies as our guides. Please bear in mind that the access is rather awkward and progressing round the boat will require a degree of agility.
The ship is very seldom in harbour for long and this is a window of opportunity between a drydock visit and the beginning of a new research voyage, granted us by the Captain, David Whitehead, and Professor Michel Kaiser.
Fully Booked

Saturday 6th September 2.00 – 5.00pm Rhosyr, Newborough Church and Village/Borough
Meet at the car park in Newborough, the one on the road that goes past the church and Rhosyr.
We will visit the church first before going on to Rhosyr. The church has an early font and important gravestones as well as being a Lord Stanley restoration with Islamic ornamentation. David Longley will explain the site at Rhosyr. We will then return to the centre of the Edwardian borough with its grid streets and burgage plots and finally visit the Prichard Jones Institute and library where some of the finds from Rhosyr are kept.
